One of the urgent causes that Utkarsh attends to is the food needs of stray animals. It is not often that they get enough food to eat. Hungry strays turn scavengers and aggressive. They will also roam around causing inconvenience to general public. Well-fed strays are calmer and do not roam around in search of food.
Utkarsh organises daily feeding drive in Mulund and feeds around 2000 animals every night. The food is freshly prepared and is nutritious, tasty and healthy and as per the advice of experienced vets.
Our food vans, along with volunteers, set out every night at 10 pm and feed around 2000 strays. The feeding drive lasts till 6 am the next day. Around 300 kg rice and 100 kg dal (pulses) are required daily for the feeding drive.
You can participate in the noble and kind daily feeding drive via donation, in-kind (rice and dal) or via volunteering.
